November 29 4 Book Salon for Curious Readers

Mastery: The Keys to Success and Long-Term Fulfillment

by George Leonard

This is a moldy oldie. The book has been a Salon book twice before. It is a classic and deserves to be reviewed periodically. It started out as an article in Esquire magazine in the ’80s.

Why bother to read (or re-read) it?

The original article and expanded book, raised timeless questions about achievement, accomplishment, recognition, and personal satisfaction. Join us for a fascinating discussion: what is the nature of mastery? What does it take to become a “master” of something? What light is shed by modern neuroscience on the pursuit of mastery? You may make some discoveries in reading the book that surprise you.

Read the review or order the book at Amazon.com.
