Neuroscience and Learning

From Mastery of Learning

In the past 10 years, we have learned more about the brain and how it functions than in entire past history of mankind. What researchers have learned recently challenges some of our dogmas regarding how the brain functions and how we learn.

One of the exciting aspects of new neuroscience is that we can take what has been discovered in the basic research and develop new tools and techniques for learning that are more appropriate to the way the brain actually functions.

The books for the May, June, and July 2007 salons report on the results of the research and some of the applications that have been found. Have fun with them and see what you can develop:

May 2007 Salon Train Your Mind, Change Your Brain: How a New Science Reveals Our Extraordinary Potential to Transform Ourselves
June 2007 Salon The Brain that Changes Itself: Stories of Triumph from the Frontiers of Brain Science
