Use Your Network of Friends
I would not be alive today were it not for my network of friends. The ones who are responsible for saving me are Martha Myers, Robert Reed, and MaryBeth Smith.
That might sound overly dramatic, but it’s literally true. My friends had an outside perspective that I didn’t have. From the inside, I couldn’t see that I was gradually getting worse each day. I wasn’t thinking. They were truly honest in telling me what they saw—and they made me do something about it.
Make sure your friends have permission to tell you the truth. Others might see, but not say anything because they don’t want to offend you. The people who really love you will tell you the truth. It might end up saving your life. You could be instrumental in saving someone else’s life, or career, or family, by telling them the truth.
